We are wedding-ed out!

October has been a very hectic month so far. I know that it's been forever since I posted, so I apologize for my temporary leave of absence.

Joey and I had 2 weddings right off the bat this month, one of which we were actually involved in. For pretty much the entire end of September and beginning of October, my entire free time was devoted to helping my lovely cousin Lisa get the finishing touches done for her wedding.

I designed, printed and assembled her program, timeline and reception place cards.... with her and Kirstie's help of course!! I could not have have gotten them all finished in time without these amazing ladies.

It was so much fun browsing Pinterest and taking ideas from here and there, along with visions I already had in my head and turning them into finished products! The program took the longest to make. The hardest parts were definitely getting everything aligned, picking the right shade of lavender and getting everyone's names spelled correctly! I think they turned out pretty awesome though.

I also found a wedding timeline on Pinterest and decided to make my own version. It's pretty similar to the one I found, I have to admit, but it still gave me the satisfaction of doing it myself. It was a big hit with everyone and it really seemed to limit the annoying questions of "Where do we go next?" and "How long of a wait til the reception?", which some people really think are appropriate questions to bother the Bride and Groom with. I am a firm believer that every wedding should implement these cards.

The reception place cards were due to the fact that the reception was a sit-down dinner and not a buffet. The colored backing helped the staff identify who ordered salmon (lavender) and who ordered chicken (black). It really helped and was a clever idea since it wasn't overly obvious!

The following pictures are a couple snapshots from the night before the wedding and during. I didn't get many pictures because I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off all day. Seriously......... I didn't sit down once all day, except for the actual wedding itself and dinner. But I loved every second of it!

Kirstie wearing all of our wedding rings... luckily she is a great friend and didn't run off with thousands of dollars on her hand.

Brandon playing the crap out of that cello.

My wedding day GPOY when I had a second to myself in the hotel bathroom. Sigh.

My lovely husband and I at the reception. We were both sweaty and tired by this point.

The next weekend was Casey and Amanda's wedding! We spent the entire day in downtown St. Louis with our friends Dustin and Brandon. It was such an awesome day.... I just totally forgot to take pictures. Ummmm, whoops!

We spent the time between the wedding and the reception at this pretty sweet bar/restaurant/hipster hangout called Plush. We ate weird food, I had a cider beer, and about 3 coffees. Guys, the napkins were tye-dye and cloth. TOTAL HIPSTER HANGOUT.

The upstairs of Plush was a huge open loft area with ping pong tables, a pool table and tons of mismatched seating areas and a bean bag pit. It had huge open windows and exposed brick walls.

I just love this guy.

The centerpieces! I love me a good mason jar craft. These battery operated lights were an awesome touch, as there was only dim lighting at the reception. Made a very romantic atmosphere!

Us and the groom. YAY WEDDINGS!!!

So yes, it's safe to say that Joey and I are officially wedding-ed out for 2012. We are going to rest and prepare for the Wedding season 2013... we're looking at you Roadie/Carrie and Brian/Kirstie!!!! We can't wait...... but are SUPER relieved you aren't getting married this year. ;)

Happy Fourth of July!

Joey and I scored really great Cardinals tickets for tonight's game.... and BONUS! They were free!! My awesome cousin decided that 110 degree weather wasn't for him and decided to give away his tickets.

While the weather was a complete beast, and believe me I sweated more than I care to mention, I loved every hot, sweaty minute of it. Our cousin Lisa and her fiance Chris (to anyone that knows me, that opening was awkward) came along, and we had so much fun.... especially once the sun went down and the wind picked up a little. Not to mention the very drunk girl in front of us with her spray bottle fan... she was nice enough to spray our faces and cool us down, even if it was just for a minute.

Before we left... when we still smelled nice and my hair wasn't a frizzy mess.

Great seats :)

Lisa with her Jumbo cotton candy... she was so excited.

I love this guy... even if he wore all Mets stuff to a Cardinals game where the Mets weren't even playing.

I LOVE SUGAR AND ARTIFICIAL COLORS!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July!

Kansas City Snapshots

Joey and I just got back from Kansas City! We celebrated my birthday there Thursday and Friday. We had a blast, and I wish we were still there.... but we had a jam-packed 2 days so I feel great about it.

In our two days, we checked into the hotel, shopped at Zona Rosa, ordered delectable birthday desserts from the hotel restaurant, went to the new Sea Life aquarium, ate sno cones by the fountains, went to a Kansas City Royals game with my friend Janna, watched fireworks, said goodbye to our hotel, and met with some friends for lunch.

Then we made the 3 mile trek across Missouri and here we are. :)
Time for bed!

Wedding Season 2012 - Alex & Greg

This year for us is chock full of weddings. I am so happy for all of my friends that are tying the knot... welcome to the club! :)

Yesterday was our friend's Alex and Greg's wedding. It was a beautiful day filled with love, happiness and laughter. She looked radiant in her dress and the pops of red were stunning. I was so happy to be a part of their day, especially surrounded by our friends!

Weddings are honestly so much fun to me now that I've gotten married and know just how much intensive labor goes into the process. Seeing Alex shine on her day makes me just that much happier for her.

I cannot even express how excited I am for the rest of this year!

Moving Day!

Today was moving day for the hubs and me. We moved out of our tiny 1 bed, 1 bath apartment in the city into my in-laws basement in the suburbs. Not bad really, we have the same amount of space as we had in the apartment, and most of our stuff is actually in storage, so it's not too terribly cramped down here.

We are still waiting to hear back from the bank on if our offer on this amazing house we found got accepted. The sellers accepted our offer, but since it's a short sale we have to get the bank's approval as well. Our realtor is calling on the 8th for an update, but we probably won't hear back until late June or early July. I have never been a patient person, so this is EXCRUCIATING. My sister said it best when she asked, "Why is it called a short sale if it takes so long?!" Amen, sister. Amen.

Luckily today went well. We had beeeeautiful weather for the move this morning and plenty of friends and family willing to help. Then we had a fun, relaxing afternoon with Lisa and Chris, Joey's cousin (and my friend) and her fiance. We got snocones (cool things in huts!) and the boys played xbox on Chris' enormous TV.

We've spent tonight unpacking our clothes and getting our computers in order (priorities!). The TV is already turned on ESPN as well, but Joey is quick to point out that it's only in standard definition.

This is going to be a long 2 months. ;)

[photoaday] Days 24 & 25

For days 24 and 25, I was to show you the inside of my bathroom cabinet and then find something that's the color green.

Instead, I took a tour of my bathroom because the decor is green! I hope you enjoy.. it's not that exciting, and bathrooms are kind of strange to be showing off.

But I promise you that it was clean when I took these pictures!

The inside of our linen closet. These are not the only towels we own, I just hadn't finished laundry yet.

One of my better organizational days. I went to Dollar Tree and bought plastic baskets to put our crap in. Now I have a basket for all of my girly things, Joey has one for his manly things, one is full of soaps and lotions, and one has unmentionables and my fingernail polish.

Our pretty shower curtain. I actually had just bought it the night before on a whim. I love the bold print and the gray/green combination. And that rug! SO luxurious feeling on your toesies.

This is our other catch-all for junk. The top has all my perfumes, and the black cubbies have our go-to cold medicines, allergy pills, Icy Hot, etc. Don't worry, they aren't full.

Just relax ;)

The vanity. I wish this was bigger, but I guess I can't complain. It serves it's purpose! One of the things that I love about my apartment is just how white everything is. It just looks so fresh!

Do you see me being awkward and not wanting to be in the picture? Yeah, that's me!

The linen closet. And my mortal enemy, the scale.

So as you can tell, my bathroom looks like this always and if you just randomly come over one day it will be spotless for you. KIDDING, NO IT WON'T. Please don't do that!

Keep coming back every day this month to see my #photoaday grow!
